Miso Music: Plectrum

Winner of the TechCrunch Disrupt SF: People’s Choice Award 2010
Nominated for App of the Year at the Siemer Silicon Beach Summit 2011

Miso Music: Plectrum is a new way to learn to play plectrum-style instruments such as the guitar, 'ukulele, bass, banjo, tenor banjo, and mandolin. Our patented polyphonic note detection software uses your device’s built-in microphone to determine if the correct notes are being played, giving you instant feedback. Think Guitar Hero with real notes, real instruments, and real learning. Play with an acoustic instrument using the built-in microphone on your device, or plug in your electric instrument using an Instrument Adapter!

We have done testing with various other instrument adapters:
-Woodies Instrument Adaptor (all devices)
-IK Multimedia iRig (all devices)
-Apogee Jam (all devices)
-Alesis iO Dock (iPad only)
**Do not recommend using iPhone headset microphone**

Don't own an instrument? You can learn and play directly on your device! Miso Media has partnered with Fender, KoAloha ʻUkulele, and Deering Banjo to produce virtual instruments with precise audio tunings that can help you learn to play, while you save up for your very own instrument.

Miso Music: Plectrum offers a wide range of music from classical foundational songs to rock & pop music's biggest hits including Adele, Bruno Mars, Lennon/McCartney, Ingrid Michaelson, Toby Keith and Jimi Hendrix. New songs are being added every day in order to offer the most updated songs possible. We are committed to expanding our database of music, and WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! If you're looking for a particular song to learn, just email us!

As an additional feature Miso Music: Plectrum includes a lite version of our Miso Strobe Tuner, a chromatic strobe tuner accurate enough to tune a drum set!

********DISCLAIMER********
MAJOR BUG FIXES IN NEW VERSION:

A bug became apparent to us in the last version, which has been fixed in this update (2.2). Any users using iOS 5.0 or above were unable to purchase songs. When a user signed into their account and downloaded a song, the song did not appear in their library.

**The issue has been resolved in this update**

SOLUTION: If you were experiencing this issue, you must DELETE the app and RE-INSTALL (download) it on your device. Updating the app will not resolve this issue!

IMPORTANT: After re-installing the new version (2.2.), affected users can re-download purchased songs provided that they use the same Apple iTunes ID without being charged again.

We are very sorry for this inconvenience, and we have appreciated your patience while we resolved these issues. Thank you!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Make sure to Log In to your Miso Account before making any purchases within the app. This will allow us to protect your purchases and enable you to access the songs on multiple devices.

We are working to make our software better, and we will be providing regular updates.

*iPod Touch will not have sound output if the generation of your iPod Touch does not have a microphone.
SOLUTION: If you plug-in your headphones after starting a song, the playback will not work. If you plug-in your headphones before you start the app, playback works! This is a hardware problem because there is not microphone on the iPod Touch.
